Julie Penta
I am Julie Penta, the Director at Artisan Childcare Center in Woburn. In 2012 I joined the Artisan team as the Lead Pre-K Teacher where I developed and implemented the first Pre-K Program at Artisan! In 2014 became the director of our newly opened Newton location and in 2018-2019, I oversaw both the Newton and Woburn programs. I bring twenty years of experience as an early childhood and performing arts educator along with a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Education and Master's degrees in Special Education and Expressive Arts Therapy. I am licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care in all areas and hold additional teaching licenses from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Communication and Performing Arts for all levels, Students of Early Childhood With and Without Disabilities PreK-2, and recently received my certification as a Vocational Teacher of Early Education and Care for grades 9-12.
I am so grateful for the daily opportunities at Artisan to grow and learn alongside my young students, families, and colleagues. It is a most fulfilling career to be an early childhood educator. I have also been a performer since my toddler years and I have spent close to two decades learning and performing the art of Persian dance. I was elated when my first class of Artisan students came to see me perform at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston!
My husband and I met in New York City on a high school field trip; we both love the theatre, especially musicals and improvisational comedy. He is a professor of computer science and my daughter is an Artisan Childcare Alum. We live in Lowell where we enjoy the local art and history of the Area.
