Our Staff: Infant Teachers
Alexis Bucci
Hi! I’m Alexis! I'm a part time teacher and started here in February of 2021! Before working at Artisan, I volunteered at a summer camp with kids ages 4 - 13. Each year I helped the children with putting on a short play and it was incredibly fun! Even though my past experience is with older kids, I love working with infants and toddlers! There's nothing like watching them develop a new skill. I’m currently a student at Middlesex Community College with a major in Theatre. After Middlesex, I plan to transfer to a four year college to continue my education with the goal to teach high school theatre. I’m a big fan of dance and music and I love integrating them into the classroom. Interactive music classes, dance parties, and yoga are a few staples of mine. A fun fact about me is I play a few different instruments and I love tap and ballet!
Marcella Vilela Nascimento
Hi, my name is Marcella. I have been at artisan for almost a year and have loved my experience in here so far. I have been working with kids since I was 14 and it is a big passion of mine! I am originally from Brazil, so being able to be a part of different cultures and learning new and different things about the kids amazes me. I’m a part time teacher in the Cassatt room and love being able to take care of our little babies and see how they grow into amazing toddlers!
AnaMaria Mira
Hola todos! Hello everyone! My name is AnaMaría, or, as most people know me, Ana, and I am the newest member to the Artisan team!
I was born in Boston, but my family is from Medellin, Colombia, South America where I spent the majority of my childhood, until my family and I moved back to the US permanently when I was eight years-old. I speak English and Spanish fluently and my Colombian culture has always been a great influence in my life where it has also allowed me to be opened in mind and heart to people of all backgrounds, cultures, religions, and ethnicities. I believe we should always view ourselves as citizens of the world and this is a philosophy I take great care in sharing as an educator with the children and families I work with.
I am a single mother to my amazing son Tomás, who is very high-spirited and is always keeping me on my toes!
One of the first experiences I had working in education was as my mother’s teacher’s aide in her classrooms. My mother was an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher for twenty years; I started working with her when I was fourteen years-old. It was through the experiences I had working alongside my mother, that my passion for education was realized and I then began to take all the necessary steps to reach my dreams of becoming an educator and working with children and their families.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Child, Family, and Community Studies from Merrimack College through their professional studies program after I transferred from Northshore Community College where I received my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and Development. After earning my degrees, I worked at a preschool center in Reading, for almost six years where I worked with toddlers, preschool, and pre-K age children.
I do not have the words to express how excited I am to be beginning this new chapter in my life and to be continuing my professional career in education as a part of the Artisan family!
Bendiciones a todos! Blessings to all!
